Objectives:This study was performed to test the reliability and validity of the revised Insight Scale for Psychosis as an assessment tool in a Korean-language version (KISP).
Methods:The subjects for the present study were 81 patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia as defined by DSM-IV-TR. The KISP was administered together with two other clinician rating measures, the Present State Examination (PSE) insight item and the six levels of insight, to assess validity.
Results:All the scale showed good internal consistency reliability (Cronbach’s alpha=0.84). The correlations of items with their scale total revealed that almost all items were significantly correlated with their own scale score. There were association with relevant the PSE score (p<0.01) and the six levels of insight score (p<0.01). In preliminary study, there were some other association between the KISP score and other clinical variables.
Conclusion:Our results give support to the reliability and validity of the KISP. (Schizophrenia Clinics 2004;7:15-22) |
